/24-7PressRelease/ - ANN ARBOR, MI, July 25, 2008 - Mandy and Pandy announces the release of two new illustrated children's books Mandy and Pandy Visit China (978-0980015669, Mandy and Pandy, 2008) and Mandy and Pandy Play Sports (978-0980015676, Mandy and Pandy, 2008) to coincide with and celebrate the Beijing Summer Olympics and to join the ever popular Mandy and Pandy children's series. Each book was written by Chris Lin and illustrated by Ingrid Villalta and includes an accompanying CD. Each story is read and repeated in three unique ways to permit understanding, foster pronunciation, and conversationally to practice listening.
The Mandy and Pandy series was launched in 2007 as a way for parents and children to have fun while learning Chinese. The first book in the series has won the iParenting Award. The books are designed to be fun but at the same time bring people together through communication.
"This summer the eyes of the world will be focused on Beijing and the Chinese culture with the Summer Olympics," said author Chris Lin. "Children will be watching the Olympics fascinated by the athletes demonstrating years of training in their sport and by the beauty of the ancient Chinese culture that predates the Roman Empire. Thinking of this and being a father myself inspired me to write Mandy and Pandy Visit China and Mandy and Pandy Play Sports.
Both books are beautifully illustrated with both English and Chinese Pin Ying translations to help parents teach their children Chinese which is becoming the world's most predominant language. In the United States, studies in Chinese are surpassing any other language. Mandy and Pandy was developed after Lin was spending time teaching his own daughter, Mandy Chinese felt that there had to be a better and more enjoyable way to do so that would be interactive for both parents and children. From that inspiration, he launched the Mandy and Pandy series which will be a total of twelve books.
"Mandy and Pandy look forward to helping teach Chinese to children and those who are young in their hearts," said Lin.
Mandy and Pandy Visit China is the delightful story of a trip to China. From start to finish the book is designed to teach Chinese phrases but also show the world and the beauty of China that thousands will experience during the Olympics firsthand and that millions will view on television. Building upon that Mandy and Pandy Play Sports is written to bring fun and education to children by celebrating sports.
