Maple Ridge Jazz and Blues Festival: David Gogo heads up the impressive line up of musicians
Ninth annual Maple Ridge Jazz and Blues Festival, presented with the Maple Ridge Arts Centre Theatre, offers the best in jazz, blues and roots music on four stages. It's non-stop music, fun and education on Friday night and all-day Saturday, August 5 and 6, 2005 in Maple Ridge, BC, Canada.

    /24-7PressRelease/ - MAPLE RIDGE, BC, CANADA, July 20, 2005 - Canadian guitarist of the year David Gogo heads up the impressive Times main stage lineup at this year's ninth annual Maple Ridge Jazz and Blues Festival. The Nanaimo native will bring his powerhouse driving blues rock along with his latest CD Vibe. All the latest details can be found at http://www.JazzBlues.ca.

Originally from San Francisco and now making Vancouver home (when he's not touring the world) is Boogie Woogie piano master Kenny "Blues Boss" Wayne. Kenny delivers one of the classiest shows you will ever see. You will dance.

The festival is also proud to present Emmy award winning Maple Ridge actor and musician Michael Moriarty and his new jazz trio. Classically trained, Michael spent over 25 years immersed in New York's legendary Jazz scene.

In addition, other musicians include the Gypsy Jazz stylings of The Hot Club of Mars, rocking blues with Vancouver Favorite's Incognito, local Jazz Cats The StreetCats and an incredible, young, local Jazz Quartet Four More.

CBC Radio will be recording for the popular Sounds like Summer Series.

Stage 2 Swings, rocks and parties all day long. Check out the west coast Jump/swing of The Steve Hansen Trio, Rockin Blues from Eddie and The Boneshakers, and Vancouver veteran David Raven, classic jazz, blues and pop with Beatrice Sallis, an east coast folksier side of things with Tusket featuring Greg Stuart and Ivan Boudreau. The lineup is tied all together with long time festival favorite James Rogers.

Step into the luxurious Arts Center Theatre's GandG Music Emerging Talent Stage featuring young jazz quartet Four More, rising star vocalist Katherine Quiqley, Coquitlam's Jade Monkey and The Full Moon Trio and local Hip Hop with Ghos Feinz. Special thanks to Ridge Meadows Arts Council.

ROLAND Interactive Zone in the Arts Center's lobby - check out the latest gear from ROLAND and BOSS. Roland Performance Workshops - Catch it While it's Hot - "must see" audio/visual performances - intimate, interactive, educational.

The Roland Jam Tent, is where it's "Hands on for Everyone" and you and your kids can "play along with the band" and check out more of the latest in Roland technology.

There will be something for everyone from family fun with the kids to a beer garden for adults. There will be arts and crafts as well as a food fair.

A $6 ticket will be available at The ACT box office in advance and the day of the festival (includes service charges and GST)

Simon Jarrett Band with very special guests Bill Sample, Tom Keenlyside, and Glenda Rae plus The Scott Robertson Trio and The Peter Raszka Project will create an incredible Friday night show. With a 7 o'clock reception in the lobby with the wonderful Scott Robertson Trio and cocktails, an 8 o'clock show with Peter Raszka Project, an amazing acoustic guitar player, a short intermission and then a full night of jazz and more with The Simon Jarrett Band and some most incredible world class special guests; Bill Sample, Tom Keenlyside and Glenda Rae.

It's the opening night, a kick off party and a reception to celebrate. And it's one amazing night of music.
