    NEW ORLEANS, LA, September 19, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Financial experts will discuss the state of commercial marine finance at the Fifth Annual WorkBoat Executive Summit.

The Summit will be held on Oct. 8, the day before the opening of the 2013 International WorkBoat Show, North America's largest commercial marine trade show. The WorkBoat Executive Summit features two panel discussions, roundtable discussions, two keynote addresses, a networking luncheon, a reception and multiple networking opportunities.

Keynote Speaker:
Matt Taibbi, Rolling Stone contributing editor and author of "Griftopia," 9 a.m.

Taibbi has covered everything from politics to sports to business, all with the wit, humor, and gonzo spirit of Hunter S. Thompson. As an author, he has written several books, including the critically hailed "Griftopia: A Story of Bankers, Politicians, and the Most Audacious Power Grab in American History." He has written several articles about the 2008 financial meltdown including "The Last Mystery of the Financial Crisis" about how the ratings agencies helped trigger the crisis.

Keynote Speaker:
Adrienne Slack, vice president and regional executive, Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, 2:15 p.m.

Adrienne Slack is responsible for the Atlanta branch's board of directors, leads its community outreach and development activities, oversees its economic and financial education programs, and provides regional input into the Atlanta Fed's monetary policy process.

The Summit also features two industry panels.

Originators Panel Discussion focuses on topics ranging from product (loan, bareboat charter, interim, etc.) and market segments (shallow, offshore, inland, pax) to financial reporting requirements, initial field analysis and structure. Attendees will hear how experts in marine finance work in front of and behind the scenes to make "it" happen.

Panelists include Ronnie Evans, regional finance manager, Key Bank Equipment Finance; Charlie Lee, senior vice president, Wells Fargo Equipment Finance; Mark Volk, senior vice president, Chase Equipment Finance; and Richard Paine, national finance manager, TCF Equipment Finance.

Credit Analyst Panel Discussion will include the major lenders currently doing business in the U.S. commercial marine market. Panelists will discuss the credit analysis process, portfolio balance, credit quality (ratings, ratio, etc.) mitigants, asset type, amortization vs. asset age, and lien searches (hidden liens) and other topics.

Panelists include Bryon Kives, senior underwriter, JP Morgan Chase Bank; Joseph Markey, senior vice president, KeyBanc Capital Markets; Jeff Johnson, vice president credit, TCF Equipment Finance Inc.; Mark Nichols, relationship manager, Wells Fargo Equipment Finance.
