She became involved in her profession because she was inspired by her husband, who is a farmer. She received the Master Farm Homemaker Award from the state of Kansas and attributes her success to her hard work and upbringing. Ms. Lear completed coursework at Kansas State University and is affiliated with the Finney County Extension Council.
