MORRISTOWN, NJ, December 12, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/
-- Where is Rodney? With the first anniversary of the tragic shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown Connecticut, noticeably missing is Rodney Frelinghuysen's position on gun control. While the majority of Americans favor background checks to prevent guns from getting into the hands of criminals and the mentally unstable, Rodney remains silent.
"Rodney is your typical Conservative Republican," says Mark Dunec who is running against Rodney. "When a politician such as Rodney knows he is not representing his constituents, he remains silent. Rodney says nothing on background checks. Just look at either his campaign or congressional website. I'm all for the Second Amendment but how many more tragedies must we endure from guns getting into the hands of those that are unstable?"
Need further proof that Rodney is a Conservative Republican? On July 17, 2013, 31 duly-elected members of Congress, led by New Jersey's own Rodney Frelinghuysen, actually voted down a measure to ban suspected terrorists from buying all the guns and ammunition they want. Moreover, just look at his voting record. In 10 terms in office, Rodney voted more than 92% of the time with his party.
"The truth is," says Dunec, "people of the 11th District are tired of politicians who won't speak out on matters in their lives. Neither my wife, a Republican and myself a moderate Democrat, do not feel represented. On the issues where moderate Republicans, Democrats and Independents all agree, Rodney remains silent. I will expose Rodney's record which is not representative of our district."
It is time we did a background check on Rodney.
