Mark hopes to raise a considerable sum for this good cause. Last year, more than 4,700 bands played at Markee Music, collectively clocking up more than 16,000 hours or rehearsal time. Over 90 bands visit the studio every single week. The forthcoming charity drive, which will be featured on Markee's social media pages, will benefit the The Sheriffs Foundation of Broward County.

The police department provides a wealth of community programs, as well as community affairs, fallen heroes support, outreach and, of course, law enforcement. Every dollar raised in the month of September will be sent to the The Sheriff's Foundation of Broward County.

Markee is a world-class facility with state-of-the-art equipment that caters to every musician, and every genre of music imaginable. Thousands of bands have used the facility since it was first established in 2011 Today, the venue boasts six soundproof rehearsal rooms, four soundproof music lesson rooms, a lunch room and a lounge. Markee has welcomed musicians in almost every genre: pop, rock, country, blues, and jazz. The venue has fast become the go-to recording facility for acts in South Florida who crave the latest equipment and acoustics. Markee also offers music lessons, perfect for beginners looking to develop a new passion, as well as those who want to hone their craft.

Markee was set up by Mark Begelman and Keith Ridenour (the name "MarKee" is a blend of their first names), and both have a long and varied career in the music business. Mark has played music for more than 40 years, is the former founder of Mars Music, and still plays with his band Monkey Mayhem, who have played countless gigs across the country. Keith is a musician and songwriter and used to run his own studios, Ridenour Studios.

The donation is simple, every person who checks into Markee Music via Facebook, Markee gives money. Also, you don't have to rehearse or check in at Markee.
