VANCOUVER, BC, December 13, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Of course, you probably offer seasonal gifts to your regular customers, but how much do you give away the rest of the year? The biggest gift-giving occasion of the year is a good time to think about 'giving' as a marketing strategy.
There are two main ways to give throughout the year:
1) Have regular giveaways
Offer a small token of your products or, if you offer services, perhaps something useful with your company's logo - pens perhaps, or you can be more imaginative: desk accessories that will be used regularly, travel mugs, possibly gift cards ...
The idea is to give something the recipient will not immediately throw away but will use regularly - if it's likely to be seen by others on their desk, or even in their car, so much the better.
Offer the chance to win your giveaway to anyone who responds/comments on a Facebook post or on your business blog; hold a random draw - there are programs that will do that for you (Rafflecopter is an example) - and mail off the gift to the lucky winner. Be sure to publicize it!
2) Give to charity
This one is arguably more altruistic, even if your motivation is not totally selfless. Choose a favourite charity and donate 10% of your profits for one month - or whatever makes sense for your budget. Promote the charity on your website and make sure your customers are aware that they're helping support this cause. People like to feel that they're dealing with caring, ethical companies.
