/24-7PressRelease.com/ - San Diego, CA November 14, 2004 -- Marlon Familton of Bellevue, Washington has joined an elite group of trainers and coaches who have achieved the status of "Certified Golf Biomechanic" by the prestigious C.H.E.K. Institute in San Diego California. The Golf Biomechanic certification is for fitness professionals who design and implement corrective flexibility, stability and strength conditioning programs that specifically cater to the needs of golfers. Familton is one of less than two hundred Certified Golf Biomechanics in the United States and Canada.

To earn the Golf Biomechanic credential, Marlon first demonstrated extensive knowledge of the C.H.E.K. system for developing golf performance and show he was able to address golf-specific conditioning needs. He then had to pass a rigorous practical knowledge and essay exam.

Paul Chek, founder of the C.H.E.K. Institute, is one of the most sought after conditioning and rehabilitation consultants in the world. He is respected not only because he promotes proper self-conditioning and training, but because his cutting-edge techniques also prevent more injuries. Chek designed the Golf Biomechanic Certification Intensive to teach his technique to fitness trainers, health professionals and golf pros.

"Training like a bodybuilder as most athletes do, lacks a functional component that transfers to sports. Success in golf is dependant upon precision timing, control, accuracy, and skill, but bodybuilding is not." Chek writes in "The Golf Biomechanic's Manual." He maintains that by following a carefully designed program and conditioning the golfer specifically for the game of golf, the risk of injury can be significantly reduced leading to better scores.

"With successful application of scientific conditioning principles, today's golfers may for the first time in over thirty years, approach lowering their golf scores." Chek writes.
