Dr. Seo is known for his expertise in policy research and development in the medical device industry of the Republic of Korea. He has served as expert committeeman to the Medical Device Clinical Trial of the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety in Korea since 2016, and as a senior researcher in the Medical Device Development Center at the Daegu Gyeongbuk Medical Innovation Foundation since 2011. In 2017, he served as committeeman to the Medical Device Division of the Future Industries Bureau of Daegu, and from 2016 to 2017, as policy manager of the Medical Device Industry of Daegu. He also served in academia as a professor in the Biomedical Information Technology Center at Keimyung University in 2010 and 2011.
Dr. Seo obtained a Bachelor of Science in 2004 from Yeungnam University, followed by an MS in Electrical Engineering in 2006, a PhD in Electrical Engineering in 2010, and an MS in Business Administration in 2017. He has authored several articles on imaging processing published in technical journals and is a patentee in his field. Additionally, he has served as a member of the Korean Institute of Intelligent Systems since 2014.
Dr. Seo became involved in his industry in order to help contribute to the development of the medical device industry in Korea through policy and research planning, and he attributes his success to his passion for his work and tenacity in problem solving. He has received multiple awards for his outstanding contributions to his industry, including a commendation by the Ministry of Health and Welfare in 2013. He was also honored as a presenter by the Korean Institute of Intelligent Systems in 2007.
