SEABROOK, NH, January 14, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Martin International Enclosures announces general availability of the new HXU-1 in row water cooled Heat Exchange Unit.
The in row HXU is designed for operators who want the efficiency of targeted in row cooling solutions vs. facility cooling at the CRAC or CRAH level. 'Many facilities are using hot aisle containment at a facility level and still have issues with hot spots.' said Mike Martin, CEO of Martin Enclosures 'this gives facilities and operations another weapon in their arsenal to deliver efficient cooling resources only where they are needed vs. across the entire computer room or facility'.
The Martin HXU-1 products are designed to be installed in rows where cooling is needed in adjacent cabinet spaces typically for cooling high density cabinets in rows where lower densities also operate. 'There are several advantages to using these units' said Mark Mac Auley, CEO of Blunt Hammer - a data center consulting firm. 'One of the most quantifiable is that these units let a facility operator target additional cooling resources in specific cabinets in specific rows vs. dropping the temperature in an entire room for the benefit of a few hot cabinets'.
The HXU product uses a chilled water feed to supply chilled water to the HXU where hot air is exchanged with the cooling from the water to deliver additional cold air to the front of the adjacent cabinets.
The list price of an HXU is $15,000.
The new offering expands Martin International Enclosure's products which have been deployed widely in data centers around the world.
