LOS ANGELES, CA, November 07, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/
-- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Marvin G. Burns with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Mr. Burns celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
An attorney for more than 60 years, Mr. Burns continues to practice as a sole practitioner in Los Angeles. Specializing in, as he describes it, "trouble", he has litigated cases in civil litigation areas of contracts, partnership dissolution, corporate dissolution, breach of trust, inverse condemnation, specific performance, easements, family law, and many other areas of contract, real estate, and business law.
Admitted to practice by the California State Bar in 1955, some of Mr. Burns' proudest accomplishments in his law practice included many interesting cases. Among those cases was his representation of James Garner against Universal Productions to collect his contractual share of profits from the series "The Rockford Files" and representation of entertainment personalities in contractual disputes such as The Eagles, George Harrison, Heart, Telly Savalas, Tom Petty, and more. In addition, Mr. Burns has represented real estate owners, builders, developers, lenders, borrowers, and contractors in disputes ranging from building the Century Plaza Hotel, home improvement, to asserting constitutional vested rights to develop property.
Mr. Burns is a widower, his wife of 60 years having passed away in 2014. He has three children, six grandchildren, and six great grandchildren. Highlighted in every edition of Who's Who in America since 1987, he has also been included in Who's Who in Finance and Industry, the 6th through 16th editions of Who's Who in American Law, and numerous volumes of Who's Who in the West and Who's Who in the World. At the age of 87 years, Mr. Burns remains active.
