Marvin T. Ee Honored for Accomplishments in Civil Engineering

Marvin T. Ee celebrated for demonstrated professional commitment in the Air National Guard

CORAOPOLIS, PA, November 18, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marvin T. Ee, Civil Engineer for the 171st Air Refueling Wing of the Air National Guard, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership, and excellence in all aspects of civil engineering.

Some people pursue their dream jobs while others pick their professions on salary alone. Singapore-born Marvin T. Ee, however, chose to pursue a career that would allow him to express his gratitude for being able to live in the United States of America—becoming a civil engineer and designing buildings, roadways, and water systems that would ultimately allow Marvin to fulfill his commitment to serving others. Today, Marvin celebrates 15 years in military civil engineering. A recognized expert in engineering, environmental, and emergency management, Marvin is responsible for designing and overseeing facility construction, managing and maintaining real property, and developing and coordinating emergency response operations. Additionally, he plans and manages environmental initiatives.

Marvin's career as a civil engineer for the Air Force started in 1994 in the 50th Civil Engineer Squadron at Schriever Air Force Base in Colorado. Since then, he has implemented basing initiatives across the United States Air Force and developed projects and programs ranging up to $1.4 billion. Additionally, he oversaw his base's refuse/recycling program, which earned him a General Thomas D. White Environmental Award in 1999, and created his installation's first-ever $240 million commander's facility assessment for 23 worldwide sites. The highlight of his career was during his first of four deployments, when he was entrusted to orchestrate a team of engineers and craftsmen to build and then to remove a base supporting reconnaissance missions during a period of international concern. Prior to joining the Air National Guard, Marvin served as an environmental program manager for the United States Air Force Headquarters at the Pentagon in Washington, D.C., and as an engineer advisor for the Iraqi Ministry of Defense in Baghdad, Iraq. He also served at MacDill Air Force Base in Florida, Randolph Air Force base in Texas, Prince Sultan Air Base in Saudi Arabia, Thumrait Air Base in Oman, Grand Forks Air Force Base in North Dakota, and Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio.

For his contributions to the field of engineering and invaluable patriotic service, Marvin received the Bronze Star, two Meritorious Service Medals, three Air Force Commendation Medals, the Joint Service Achievement Medal, and two Air Force Achievement medals. He also earned the titles of "Company Grade Officer of the Year," "Staff Officer of the Year," and "Military Manager of the Year" from major command to national levels. His prodigious career is marked with several other honors and Marvin attributes his professional success to his faith in God and his spiritual network of friends and family. In fact, he speaks regularly on Christian issues, military legacy, and motivational subjects. As he moves forward in his career, he will strive to work in a civil service organization or to become a consultant in the corporate sector.

Marvin holds a Master of Arts in Pastoral Ministry from the Trinity Theological Seminary and a Master of Science in Engineering and Environmental Management from the Air Force Institute of Technology. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the United States Air Force Academy and is certified in collegiate teaching. Active in both his professional and local communities, Marvin is an affiliate of the Pennsylvania National Guard Associations and The National Guard Association of the United States. He has volunteered his time in support of The Salvation Army, Open Door Ministries, and Special Olympics.
