Dr. Mann graduated from the University of Southern California with a PhD in 1982 and a Master of Arts in 1970. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts from Sydney University in Australia. She has served as a writer at the Synthaxis Theatre Company since 1979, and the theater produces her plays. She is the author of the "Los Angeles Theatre Book," published in 1978 and 1984, "The Construction of Tragedy," published in 1985, "Thugun and Natasha," published in 2003, "Two Family Plays: Maria and the Comet The Round Table," published in 2004, "Hubris, the Construction of Tragedy," revised edition published in 2004, "There are no Enemies, A Practical Philosophy of Life" published in 2007, with a second edition in 2011, "ANZAC to Understanding," published in 2008, "Mentoring Poems, Four Centuries of Selected Poetry," published in 2010, "Poems of Woman," published in 2012, "ANZAC the Play," published in 2012 and "Tortoise Shell," published in 2015.

Dr. Mann is also the co-editor with Rev. Leland P. Stewart of "Science and Spirituality," published in 2004, and the plays "Diana Devereaux," "The Senator's Daughter," "The Tongue-Cut Sparrow," "The Right of the Womb-post 911," In addition, Dr. Mann has been running the North Hollywood UnBuckled No-Ho Poetry Group with Radomir Voitech Luza for seven years. She was formerly a member of the Mid-town North Hollywood Neighborhood Council and a member of the Unity-and-Diversity World Council since 1989. She is presently its Co-Chair and has been an Ordained Minister in its Unity-and-Diversity World Fellowship since 2010.

Dr. Mann has been featured in Who's Who in Entertainment, Who's Who in the West, and numerous editions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in the World, and Who's Who of American Women. She is the daughter of Willie Augustus, an original ANZAC, and Dorothy Louisa Mann. She is the mother of the late Attica Andrew, and she has one granddaughter, Destiny.
