Medina, Executive Director of the Center for Trustee Initiatives and Recruitment for the Greater New York Hospital Association (GNYHA), has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of healthcare administration.

The Center for Trustee Initiatives and Recruitment is committed to identifying and recruiting senior-level professionals, executives, and entrepreneurs from underrepresented communities to serve on the governing boards of hospitals and continuing care facilities. With more than 24 years of professional experience, Ms. Medina specializes in handling diversity issues and improving governance practices for community organizations. She is responsible for recruiting diverse candidates to serve on the governing boards of hospitals and continuing care facilities, and enriching the quality of services delivered by member facilities. Prior to joining GNYHA, Ms. Medina served as the founding executive director of the New York City Health and Hospitals Corporation Foundation and as chief of staff to the chairman of the board.

Ms. Medina was named among the "Top 25 Women in Healthcare" by Modern Healthcare in 2007. In 2006, she was honored by the Women's Venture Fund with the Highest Leaf Award and was declared Outstanding Latina of the Year in 2003 by El Diario-La Prensa. She attributes her success to her perseverance, and looks to employ this trait in pursuing her goals for the future, which include leading a nonprofit organization.

A Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Ms. Medina earned her JD from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law at Yeshiva University in 1992 and her Master of Social Work from Fordham University Graduate School of Social Service in 1983. She is affiliated with the New York State Bar Association and the National Association of Social Workers, and serves on the board of the National Forum of Latino Healthcare Executives.
