Mary Whaley Recognized by Worldwide Who's Who for Excellence in Marketing & Distribution Management

An accomplished professional, Mary Whaley communicates the importance of using her company's nano technology to protect, preserve and enhance clients' material assets and investments

AUCKLAND, NEW ZEALAND, September 10, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Whaley, the Vice President of Global Marketing at Coval Molecular Coatings, Inc., has been recognized by Worldwide Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in promoting the use of coating and sealing products, made with the strongest of all chemical bonds, which extend the life of equipment, machinery, buildings and objects.

The next generation of surface protection, Coval Coatings are 21st century coatings which have surpassed previous expectations for the use of nano technology. Unlike other coatings, which just sit on the surface of the substrate, Coval's protective coatings create a superior barrier and feature covalent bonding at a molecular level, meaning that they become one with the surface they are applied to. All Coval coatings are non-breathable, waterproof coatings that have the added bonus of providing anti-graffiti protection for metal, concrete, wood, stone, circuitry and marine materials. In addition to combating graffiti, it offers a barrier against moisture, mold, stains and scratches and come in a gloss, satin or matte finish.

Coval sealers, which can also be used on almost any substrate, are breathable, stain resistant and water-repellent. Virtually invisible and ideal for use on historic and protected buildings, they penetrate the substrate's surface, repelling moisture, stains and mold from within the substrate. With both Coval coatings and sealers, there is no need for harsh chemical cleaning, which extends the life of the substrate and reduces maintenance costs. Coval coatings and sealers also contain no known carcinogens and will not harm plants or soil.

After experiencing a more than 30-year career in the legal sector, Mary Whaley decided to indulge in her passion for art, design and architecture, as well as creating businesses. Influenced by her daughter, who is an interior designer, she joined the metal coatings industry, figuring it was the perfect way to capitalize on a creative business opportunity. In 2005, Ms. Whaley and her family formed a metals coating business called Metalier Coatings, originally importing an American product. Unhappy with it, the family hired a chemist to create a new product which is now available in the States and the UK. Ms Whaley continues to be the international face of Metalier although she has handed the management of Metalier in New Zealand to her son and son-in-law. She balances the Metalier role with her work for Coval. Working with different time zones is one of the challenges of running international businesses and there have been a few mistakes but none - yet - that have been too embarrassing!

In her current role at Coval, Ms. Whaley utilises her background in law and management to keep legal documentation of the business up to date and ensure there is an efficient business structure in place for the company at all times. Focusing on both decorative and protective surface coatings, she is in charge of marketing the company's products and communicating with Coval distributors in both New Zealand and the United States.

Ms. Whaley's educational background includes a master's degree with honours in history and a bachelor's degree in law from the University of Auckland. Attributing her success to her determination, and believing it is important to give back to the community, she has served as a trustee of Auckland City Mission and is currently a trustee for Musica Sacra. In her free time, Ms. Whaley enjoys Baroque music and opera, skiing, traveling and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
