Mary Wiedebusch Honored by Marquis Who's Who for Excellence in Dance Education

For four decades, Ms. Wiedebusch has choreographed theatrical dance productions for the West Virginia Creative Arts Center



In recognition of professional excellence, Ms. Wiedebusch was named to the hall of fame of the school of physical education at West Virginia University.

    MORGANTOWN, WV, February 16, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Mary Wiedebusch has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Motivated by a passion for the performing arts, Ms. Wiedebusch is an award-winning educator in a myriad of dance styles. Over the course of her career, she has worked exclusively for West Virginia University as director of the Orchesis Dance Ensemble, professor of dance, and coordinator of the dance program. To further her influence in the local dance community, Ms. Wiedebusch choreographed gala performances for the West Virginia State Dance Festival and theatrical dance productions for the West Virginia Creative Arts Center. She was also founder, director and dance artist-in-residence for the West Virginia Dance Residency Program.

In recognition of professional excellence, Ms. Wiedebusch was named to the hall of fame of the school of physical education at West Virginia University. She received a Distinguished Woman Award and an Outstanding Leadership Award from the National Sorority Alpha Xi Delta.

Additionally, she was selected for inclusion in Who's Who in America, Who's Who in the South and Southwest, Who's Who in the World, and Who's Who of American Women. To prepare for her career, Ms. Wiedebusch earned a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Arts from West Virginia University and took postgraduate coursework at Radford College, American University and Duke University. Today, she remains at the head of her field by affiliating with the American College Dance Festival Association, for which she served as a founding member of the board of directors in 1973.

Looking to the future, Ms. Wiedebusch intends to continue teaching dance and sharing her passion with the world.
