Now, Lance Burton has taken time from his very busy schedule to help E BUNNY... asking the Vegas community to do all they can for local homeless and underprivileged children at Easter.
Master Magician Lance Burton's Public Service Announcement encourages Las Vegas locals to donate Easter baskets to E BUNNY, a private outreach group that brings hope and joy to needy kids at Easter. Burton's PSA runs through March 20th on radio and TV stations across the Las Vegas Valley.
2008 marks the 3rd year Las Vegans will be part of E BUNNY's One Special Basket for One Special Child program. "We don't ask much, just for baskets to bring some joy to these kids," said Barbara Kenig, who started the volunteer outreach effort 18 years ago. "Think how a child whose days don't have too many bright spots would be thrilled to get something special at Easter; then, pick a filled basket you know would thrill that boy or girl. Just buy one basket for a child in need — they're only a few dollars — then inspire the people in your life to do the same."
E BUNNY has two convenient drop-off locations this year, to make helping easy: In Summerlin, Faith Community Lutheran Church (2700 S Town Center Drive) has offered its support. And, in Henderson, the Nevada State College School of Nursing (303 S Water Street #200, upstairs) has again volunteered to make Easter better for these kids.
Beyond the neon glitz of the Vegas Strip, thousands of children live impoverished... many homeless, in temporary housing and shelters. Help E Bunny make a big difference in those childrens' lives. No matter your religious beliefs, you'll give a child a smile at Easter... and be part of our community that cares for kids.
