/24-7PressRelease/ -- McDonough Holland & Allen PC, a leading Northern California law firm representing both public and private sector clients, has added four associates—three to the Construction, Health Care and Litigation Practice Groups in Sacramento, and one in the Public Law practice in the firm's Oakland office.
The first-year associate class consists of all women who have completed successful summer associate or clerkship stints at McDonough. They include:
Megan Burke (Public Law - Oakland office): Burke earned her J.D. from the University of California Berkeley, Boalt Hall School of Law (2009) and her B.S., cum laude, in political science from Central Michigan University (2004). She has been a summer associate with both McDonough and the Drug Policy Alliance in Berkeley, Calif., and she interned with the Domestic Violence Policy Clinic, performing legal and policy research.
Kendall Darr (Construction - Sacramento office): Darr received her J.D. from the University of California, Davis School of Law (2009) and her B.S. in business administration and marketing from California State University, Fresno (2005). She was a 2008 summer associate at McDonough and was previously an intern with the California Department of Transportation. Darr also served as a Judicial Administration Fellow with the Superior Court of California, County of Stanislaus, where she wrote grants to support court programs and was an ombudsman to the management team.
Regina Cabral Jones (Health Care - Sacramento office): Cabral Jones earned her J.D. from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law (2009) and her B.A. in theatre arts from the University of California, Santa Cruz (2005). She has clerked at McDonough and was previously a legal secretary with Sutter Health in Sacramento, where she provided executive support and legal secretarial assistance to the in-house legal department.
Karen Kim (Litigation - Sacramento office): Kim earned her J.D. from the University of California, Davis School of Law (2009) and her B.S. in journalism from Northwestern University, Medill School of Journalism (1999). She has clerked and externed at McDonough, Porter Scott and the California Attorney General's Office - Public Rights Division. Prior to pursuing a career in law, Kim worked as a part time teaching assistant in U.C. Davis' Asian Studies Department, reported for the Los Angeles Times and the Orange County Register, and was a press secretary for California State Assembly Majority Leader Dario Frommer.
