/24-7PressRelease/ -- San Jose, Calif.-based trial firm McManis Faulkner elevates Michele Corvi and Matthew Schechter to partner, effective Jan. 1. The elevations bring the firm's total partnership to nine, with a female majority.

Corvi, who co-leads the family law team, manages a diverse caseload that includes issues such as child custody and visitation, domestic violence, child support, spousal support, valuation of property and division of assets. Corvi has successfully handled paternity claims, date of separation disputes, breach of fiduciary duty claims, reimbursement claims, valuation of stock options and businesses, and post-nuptial and marital settlement agreements. She is an active member of the Santa Clara County Bar Association, serving on the Executive Board as secretary and as a member of the Women Lawyer's Committee. She received her J.D. from the Santa Clara University School of Law (2000) and her B.S. in political science from Santa Clara University (1997).
Schechter, an experienced trial lawyer, has a varied civil litigation practice with a particular emphasis in employment law. He also handles appeals and writs involving a broad range of issues at both the state and federal level. Schechter previously was an Assistant District Attorney in the Queens County District Attorney's Office. He is an active member of the Santa Clara County Bar Association, previously serving on the Board of Trustees, as a member of the Executive Committee, and as a delegate to the Conference of Delegates. Schechter earned his J.D. from the University of Notre Dame Law School (1996) and his B.A. in comparative politics from Bowdoin College (1991).
