1. BookOnPrint products are downloaded over the Internet and can be printed on any home, business, or commercial printer.
Readers with single-sided or duplex laser printers can print directly on pre-punched 3-ring paper, then insert the pages into a standard 3-ring binder. Readers who don't have fast laser printers at home can print the product to a PDF file or save it on a USB Flash drive, then bring the PDF file or Flash drive to a print shop for printing and binding.
2. BookOn products include support for an automated online purchase and activation process. Customers can download a free BookOnPrint product and print a limited number of pages in demonstration mode. An automated purchase and activation process unlocks the full content for printing the entire book.
3. Digital rights management is built into every BookOnPrint product. As part of the purchase and activation process, a watermark consisting of the purchaser's name and e-mail address is embedded in every page, strongly discouraging inappropriate distribution.
4. The BookOnPrint system supports fully formatted pages (text and graphics) and color or black and white output. To facilitate printing on home and business printers, the system is optimized for use with pages that are 8.5 x 11" in size. The BookOnPrint system is suitable for secure digital distribution of newsletters, magazines, workbooks, textbooks, and books of any length or complexity.
5. The BookOnPrint system currently supports Windows XP and Vista, with Mac OS X and Linux versions under development.
