Medic East Africa 2016 Conferences to Focus on "Healthcare For All"

Region's leading healthcare trade show and conferences will address the latest challenges and best practices in healthcare management, surgery, anaesthesia and medical laboratory



    NAIROBI, KENYA, September 24, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- In January 2016, Universal Health Coverage (UHC) formally became part of the United Nations new Sustainable Development Goals to be achieved by 2030. In line with these global goals to ensure access to "quality essential healthcare services and access to safe, effective, quality and affordable essential medicines and vaccines for all", Medic East Africa, the region's leading healthcare exhibition and conferences, returns to Nairobi, Kenya, for the fourth year on 27-29 September 2016 under the theme "Healthcare For All". Held at the Oshwal Centre in Nairobi, the conferences will promote stakeholder dialogue and knowledge sharing and will address the latest challenges and best practices via 4 CPD conferences accredited by the Kenya Healthcare Association.

Chaired by Dr Amit Thakker, Chairman, Kenya Healthcare Federation, the flagship conference - Healthcare Management - will provide a forum for lively discussion on best practices to integrate healthcare delivery, financial sustainability, healthcare governance and human expertise, among other topics. With 15 high-level speakers from across the region, the Healthcare Management Conference promises to be a premier forum for discussion on transformative healthcare.

This year, Medic East Africa will host three new conferences streams. The Anaesthesia Conference aims to create dialogue and discussion around the latest guidelines and best practices among anaesthesiologists in East Africa. Co-chaired by Dr Madhu Patel and Dr Louis Litswa from the Kenya Society of Anaesthesiologists, key topics include regional anaesthesia and pain management, general anaesthesia and its challenges, the management of challenging cases, as well as a Masterclass on Procalcitonin in anaesthesia.

With the goal of updating surgeons with advancements in technology, innovation and surgical techniques, the Surgery Conference is designed to cater to the special interests of General Surgeons. From new methods of effective lab management to the development of techniques in detecting diseases, The Medical Laboratory Conference will cover key topics to bring the latest cutting edge information on research and technology to attendees. This conference will focus on important areas like sustainable labs, theranostics, capacity building, molecular diagnostics and cytopathology.
