/24-7PressRelease/ -- With CMS' recent deadline revisions, Responsible Reporting Entities have been given a short reprieve from MMSEA reporting. That time can be used for companies to better familiarize themselves with their CMS reporting obligations, and to set in place processes to query claimants, gather and properly format query and settlement data, and submit that data to CMS.
Medical Research Consultants (MRC), a med-legal consulting firm with a national client base, recently issued a white paper, "MMSEA: Act II" covering recent changes to the MMSEA Section 111 reporting deadlines. Based on their experience as a CMS reporting agent, MRC also shares helpful guidelines to those entities subject to these new reporting requirements. Topics covered include answers to the the following questions:
- What recent MMSEA changes do Responsible Reporting Entities need to be aware of?
- What is a good general rule to determine whether a settlement is reportable?
- What are the best methods for converting native database information into a query file?
- How can an RRE use query data to comply with the Medicare Secondary Payer act?
- How does an RRE determine which ICD-9 codes to report?
Interested parties can download the white paper for free directly from MRC's website.
