LONDON, ENGLAND, October 30, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- London, England (MedtechWire) October 30th, 2009 - - Medtech Ventures, the leading medical device industry consulting firm, has teamed up with Van den Berg University (VDBU.com), to Jointly Raise EUR1 Million for AngioVasc Super EV Guides in Series A Venture Finance.

AngioVasc, a stealth development stage medical device start-up developing endovascular catheter based embolic devices, has completed initial prototyping and testing of a family of new generation Super EV Guides.

AngioVasc's patent protected technology platform is based on a novel concept of combining highly flexible guiding catheters with balloon occlusion device for embolic protection and a visible, highly steerable guiding tip for easy navigation within distal arterial tree.

Distal embolization complicates percutaneous mechanical interventions more often than had been recognized before. Currently available technologies have focused either on conduit occlusion (proximal or distal) with subsequent aspiration or on distal filter capture debris.

AngioVasc's Super EV Guides offer an innovative solution which addresses an unmet need in a market that is currently valued at $500 million. Proceeds from finance round will be used to refine prototype, produce and test initial batches of device and move device to 510K.

Van den Berg University (VDBU.com) offers first-of-a-kind Master of Arts in Entrepreneurship degree (MAE) that relies heavily on virtual venture incubation and innovative massively multiplayer online role-playing games (MMORPG).

Medtech Venture, a leading medical technology consulting and venture sourcing firm, offers a broad range of consulting instruments targeting senior executives in the medical device industry, private equity sourcing and venture capital financial mediation.
