/24-7PressRelease/ - EDMONTON, ALBERTA, CANADA, September 28, 2005 ~ On October 15th and 16th at Northlands AgriCom in Edmonton, Alberta, more than 12,000 people are expected to check out this fall's Edmonton Woman's Show. The Show exhibits include products, entertainment and Authors' Row, featuring Canadian mystery author Cheryl Kaye Tardif, who helped organize Authors' Row with Augusta Reinich, assistant producer for the event.

Tardif is best known for her debut novel, the emotional mystery novel, Whale Song, which featured the painting 'Sanctuary' by acclaimed US artist David Miller on its cover. Whale Song has since maintained its sales in Canada and the US, and a screenplay is underway at the request of a leading Canadian executive producer.

Tardif's second novel, Divine Intervention, has been compared to Nora Roberts (writing as J.D. Robb in her 'In Death' series), Patricia Cornwell and Canadian author Kathy Reichs, whom Tardif feels "especially proud of". Divine Intervention has also been compared to the hit TV show Medium, and is the first book in the Canada-based series.

The River is Cheryl Kaye Tardif's latest mystery. It's a "terrifying techno-thriller" set in the Nahanni River area in Canada's Northwest Territories, drawing upon local legends of headless corpses and missing people. The River has already received rave reviews, and will be available soon in local bookstores and online through Amazon.ca, Amazon.com, BarnesandNoble and more. On October 8th, Tardif will be celebrating her newest success at The River Launch Party, which is sponsored by Victor Guan, owner of Cappuccino Affair (4341-50th St.) in Edmonton, from 7-10 pm. Entertainment by local singer-songwriter Alexia Melnychuk and guitar player Jessica Tardif, plus tons of door prizes, will make this one of the most exciting book launches Edmonton has seen. Media is invited by RSVP invitation.

Cheryl Kaye Tardif was nominated for the Lieutenant Governor of Alberta Arts Award, and over the years she has received a number of awards for her writing. Along with her two main websites, http://www.cherylktardif.com and http://www.divinenovels.com, she is the founder of Project Drumheller, a project that helped to send a young boy and his mother to Drumheller, AB., and the founder of AlbertaAuthors.com, promoting Alberta authors. Tardif is the Marketing Advisor for INDAWA - Independent Authors Association, and CEO of BookAdz.com, a site devoted to promoting Canadian and American writers, and the founder of A.F.T.E.R. Canada ~ Authors For Tragic Event Relief, which helps raise funds for survivors of tragic events such as the Asia tsunamis and Hurricane Katrina and Rita.

Tardif has appeared on Global Morning News, CFRN, A-Channel (now City TV), Shaw TV (Edmonton and Red Deer), CJSR radio, New Age Radio (Waukegan, Il., USA), and she has been featured in Edmonton Woman Magazine, The Edmonton Examiner, Alberta Native News, California Chronicle and more. Tardif will be appearing on Shaw TV Red Deer on September 30th in the late afternoon and a review of The River will appear in an upcoming issue of Edmonton Sun.

Tardif's novels, which are all set in Canada, will be available at a special promotional price just for Authors' Row and the Edmonton Woman's Show. Come out and meet her, and pick up autographed copies of her books, which make great gifts for anyone who loves a suspenseful read.
