SILVER SPRING, MD, April 16, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Mrs. Mei-Jong Hung with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Mrs. Hung celebrates many years' experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Mrs. Hung has over 50 years of professional experience. She served as a mental health social worker in private practice from 1972 to 2008. Previously she was a social work supervisor with Johns Hopkins Hospital from 1969 to 1971, was an Assistant Professor at National Taiwan University from 1964 to 1966, and was a mental health counselor with the Taipei Public Health Teaching and Demonstration Center from 1963 to 1966.

Mrs. Hung started as a student at National Taiwan University, obtaining a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1960. She then went on to Simmons College School of Social Work, in Boston, earning a Master of Social Work in 1963. While pursuing her degrees, Mrs. Hung worked and taught at a mental health institute where her mentor, Dr. Lin, encouraged her progress, pointing out the shortage of social workers and the need for an improved social work program. Later in life, she shared her experience of becoming a widow to help others who had lost their spouses.

Certified as a hypnotherapist and social worker, Mrs. Hung is a member of the National Association of Social Workers and the Academy of Certified Social Workers. She has also been active in her community as the President of the Karaoke Club, a volunteer in community and recreational social work and, due to her love of music, as a co-producer of Opera International, an organization that once a year presented a well received opera.

In recognition of her outstanding service as a social worker, Ms. Hung was honored, in 1961, as a fellow of the World Health Organization.

Her parents were Wen-Tung Yeh Chow and Li-hsien Chow. She dedicated the Chao-Huang Hung Compassion Award, in the name of her late husband, which was awarded annually to the physician at Johns Hopkins who best exemplified the characteristics of the esteemed Dr. Hung. She is the mother of Jennifer Ching-yi and John Ching-tsung and the grandmother of Nicholas and Conrad Mera and Ashton and Annika Hung.

In recognition of outstanding contributions to her profession and the Marquis Who's Who community, Mrs. Hung has been featured on the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement website. Please visit www.ltachievers.com for more information about this honor.
