BREMEN, GA, July 17, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Legendary entertainer Mel Tillis will take the stage at Mill Town Music Hall on Friday, July 25 at 7:30 p.m. EST. Tillis has recorded more than 60 albums since the late 1950s and ticket sales from the show will benefit the Harold Shedd Music Mill Gallery. Tillis worked with his long-time friend and Bremen-native Harold Shedd while at the Music Mill Studio in Nashville, Tenn. The Harold Shedd Music Gallery is scheduled to open later in 2014. Mill Town Music Hall focuses on wholesome, family-friendly music and events and is located conveniently off I-20 in Bremen (1031 Alabama Avenue).
Thirty-six of Tillis' songs have reached Top 10 status (with nine going to Number One). Some of his Top 10 Hits include, I Ain't Never, Good Woman Blues and Coca-Cola Cowboy. In 2012, President Barack Obama awarded Tillis the National Medal of Arts for his contributions to country music. He has been awarded both Entertainer of the Year and Comedian of the Year by the Country Music Association (CMA). He has also been inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame. Plans are underway to open the Harold Shedd Music Mill Gallery, a non-profit extension at Mill Town Music Hall, to serve as a tourist attraction which celebrates music history connected to the state of Georgia. A Georgia Music Hall of Fame Inductee, Shedd worked with artists such as Alabama, Toby Keith, Shania Twain, Reba McEntire, Billy Ray Cyrus and many others. Currently, he's working with Alabama on their latest album and tour. Proceeds from this concert will help with the construction costs related to the gallery.
