    LAKE CITY, FL, January 31, 2012 /Cambridge Who's Who/ -- Merlinda Gomez-Mendez, Blood Bank Supervisor of VA Medical Center, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in blood banking.
As a blood bank supervisor of the VA Medical Center, Ms. Gomez-Mendez is responsible for managing blood bank tests, overseeing the collection and distribution of blood products, ensuring the supply, utilization and transfusion of blood during major surgeries.
Ms. Gomez-Mendez received a Bachelor's Degree in Science with a major in Medical Technology from InterAmerican University in San Juan, PR, and is a certified medical technologist. She is a member of AABB (American Association for Blood Banks) and ASCP (American Society for Clinical Pathology). In years to come, Ms. Gomez-Mendez hopes to work with the Food and Drug Administration.
