Meshack Sagini Recognized for Commitment to Education

    EDMOND, OK, January 12, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Meshack Sagini, PhD, has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Drawing upon more than 40 years of professional experience, Dr. Sagini serves as an associate professor and research scientist with the department of social sciences and humanities at Langston University. In this position, he is noted for his focus on United States government, public policy, international relations, organizational behavior, strategic planning and management, higher education management, and general world history. He is credited with establishing the Office of Scholarly & Scientific Research, which publishes the Journal of Scholarly and Scientific Perspectives (JSSP).

Dr. Sagini began his career by receiving a diploma in Social Sciences from the University of Cambridge in 1968, before going on to earn a Bachelor of Education in History, Education and Religion from Northern Caribbean University in 1979, where he served as a social science lecturer in 1979-1980. He then earned a Master of Arts in Education Leadership and History from Andrews University in 1982, and a PhD in College and University Administration (Social Science Perspective) from Michigan State University in 1987.

Dr. Sagini briefly served as an assistant professor with Lansing Community College and as an instructor with Michigan State University before joining Langston University in 1991. While serving as an associate professor with the Langston University, he completed postdoctoral coursework in public policy through Oklahoma State University in 1997 and the University of Central Oklahoma (2016-2018). He was briefly recognized as a visiting scholar with the University of Michigan in 2005 and Kisii University in Kenya in 2014. In 2009 and 2013, he was appointed and re-appointed to President Barack Obama's "Kitchen Cabinet."

A respected voice in the field of education, Dr. Sagini has authored five books, entitled "Globalization: The Paradox of Organizational Behavior: Terrorism, Foreign Policy, & Governance," "Perceptions of Planners of Four Michigan Community Colleges," "Planning & Management in Public Organizations: Behavior in Organizations," "Organizational Behavior: The Challenges of the New Millennium," "The African and the African American University: A Historical & Sociological Analysis" and "Poverty in Oklahoma and Its Implications on the National and Global Tableau." He is a member of the Kenya Scholars & Studies Association, National Social Science Association, Association of American Foreign Policy, College of Education with Michigan State University, Phi Beta Delta and GALE, and APSA.

In recognition of his commitment to education, Dr. Sagini was named a Distinguished Professor of Faculty Row. In addition, he was an honoree of the Oklahoma Political Science Association in 2009. As he moves forward with his career, he intends to continue teaching and publishing in his fields of interest. Within the next five years, he hopes to complete his seventh or eighth book, as well as contribute many more articles to professional publications.
