BOULDER, CO, February 06, 2010
/24-7PressRelease/ -- Members of Metzger Associates' Social Media Practice Group — including Doyle Albee, Dean Rizzuto and Dave Taylor — will present an extended Social Media Breakfast Feb. 18 to mark the Fifth Anniversary of Metzger's Social Media Practice. The morning will also feature special guests Ari Newman and Linda O'Neill, who will cover social media monitoring and social media customer service, respectively.
"Throughout our 19-year history, we've consistently been leaders in evaluating new communication technology and practices and helping guide our clients in separating the contenders from the pretenders," said John Metzger, CEO of Metzger Associates. "We take pride in providing our clients with a complete communications strategy, from the most traditional PR and communications services—which remain important—to an understanding of how the latest tools fit in a complete strategic communications program," he added.
To commemorate five years of social media communications leadership, Metzger has assembled five thought leaders in the area to provide a glimpse of what they believe 2010 will bring in social media and communications. The morning's line-up:
• Ari Newman, president and founder of Filtrbox, a real-time social media monitoring service that helps companies listen to and engage in online conversations, will provide an overview of best practices in online listening and advances we can expect in 2010.
• Linda O'Neill, general manager for Customer Operations for CenturyLink, will discuss current best practices in online customer service and how those must relate to traditional efforts. For the last three years, Linda has been spearheading the Social Media outreach program for her company to engage in meaningful, online conversations with customers.
• Dean Rizzuto, Metzger's Web Development Practice manager, will share his insights on best practices for Web sites, how a number of technologies have changed best practices and expectations and how to ensure your hard work is "found" in the ever-growing online environment.
• Dave Taylor, national speaker, host of the popular "Ask Dave Taylor" blog and Metzger senior consultant, will discuss the continued evolution of media. From traditional outlets to online and even mobile, Taylor will share what he believes we'll see in 2010.
• Doyle Albee will discuss how social media will continue to change the traditional media and communications landscape and how that will impact the media, PR and marketing industries.
The conference will be held at Metzger Associates (5733 Central Ave. in Boulder) from 8-11 a.m. Feb. 18. The event is free of charge, but reservations are necessary and Metzger will be accepting donations from each attendee who wishes to contribute to benefit Colorado Haiti Project (http://www.coloradohaitiproject.org) to assist the victims of the recent earthquake in Haiti. CHP a state-wide non-profit organization founded in 1989 to extend aid to the poorest of the poor in a rural area called Petit Trou de Nippes, about 80 miles west of Port-au-Prince.
