    TUCSON, AZ, October 08, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Jorge Lopez Perez, the international promotion and foreign investment director of Mexico's national development agency, Promexico, will be a featured speaker at The Offshore Group's 15th Annual Manufacturing in Mexico Summit. The event will take place at the San Carlos Plaza Hotel in San Carlos, Sonora from October 21-24, 2009.

Lopez will address manufacturers as regards the benefits of investing and producing in Mexico to achieve the goal of competitively serving both domestic and foreign markets, as well as to explain his agency's role in efforts to promote national economic development and job creation. Despite the pronounced global economic slowdown, foreign direct investment in Mexico reached $10 billion for the first half of 2009.

In addition to Lopez Perez's presentation other industry experts will examine topics such as:

- The highly integrated nature of the U.S.- Mexico economic relationship;
- An overview of Mexican environmental and labor laws:
- Current Mexico - U.S. customs and transportation issues;
- New legislative initiatives and their effects on Mexico investments

Another important characteristic of the 15th Annual Manufacturing Summit is that it will enable executives that are contemplating Mexico projects to gather a wide breadth of relevant information in abbreviated time frame. In addition to speakers, attendees will be able to glean information from executives of the operating manufacturing facilities that they will tour, and will be able to engage in detailed cost modeling exercises in order to produce accurate estimates of the cost of their anticipated projects.
