Dr. Gibson has 44 years of experience in his industry. He has built a name for himself as an expert in chemical engineering, applied research and development, the design and development of chemical processes, organic chemistry, mathematics, modeling, synthetic fuels, catalysis, catalysts, and scaling up processes from experimental to commercial scale projects. Dr. Gibson was the recipient of numerous recognitions in the course of his four-decade career, including a Presidential Medal of Freedom and several accolades from the National Aeronautics and Space Administration. He was also honored by Cambridge Who's Who as Entrepreneur of the Year in Chemical Process Development in 2008 and 2006.

The holder of six patents, Dr. Gibson earned his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Rice University in 1973. Additionally, he completed his Master of Science in Engineering 1966 and his Bachelor of Science in Engineering in 1965, both from Cornell University. His professional affiliations include the New York Academy of Sciences, the American Chemical Society, the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, The Explorers Club and the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
