    LOS ANGELES, CA, November 18, 2009 /Cambridge Who's Who/ -- Michael D. Holtz, Partner of Lavely & Singer, P.C., has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in legal services.

A 20-year veteran of the legal profession, Mr. Holtz is considered an authority on contract, torts, right of publicity and idea misappropriation in the field of entertainment litigation. In 1999, he brought his talents to Lavely & Singer, one of the world's premiere talent-side entertainment litigation firms, representing a vast array of clients including a lion's share of Hollywood's most famous, celebrated and prestigious actors, producers, directors, writers, recording artists, athletes and celebrities in entertainment and business litigation including intellectual property, copyright and trademark litigation, media law, right of publicity and privacy law, defamation, contract disputes, business torts, Internet-domain name law, and in matters before specialized tribunals such as the California Labor Commissioner, IFTA (formerly known as AFMA), and the arbitration boards of the Hollywood talent guilds (i.e., SAG, WGA, DGA).

Fascinated by celebrity culture and the legal profession from a young age, Mr. Holtz moved to California from New York immediately after graduating from law school, and found his niche in entertainment litigation. He attributes his success to his hard work, combination of "book smarts" and "street smarts", ability to deal with difficult personalities in pressure situations, and the support and guidance he receives from his partner Marty "Mad Dog" Singer, universally recognized as one of the top entertainment lawyers in the United States.

Mr. Holtz received his JD in 1990 from New York University School of Law and his Bachelor of Arts in English Literature in 1987 from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. His professional affiliations include the State Bar of California, the Los Angeles County Bar Association, and the Beverly Hills Bar Association. In 2004 he was nominated for inclusion in Los Angeles magazine's "Southern California Super Lawyers Under 40", and in 2009 he was nominated for inclusion in Los Angeles magazine's "Southern California Super Lawyers."
