HARRISBURG, PA, September 4, 2009
/Cambridge Who's Who/ -- Michael J. Breslin, Chief Operating Officer of NHS Human Services, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in non-profit management.
With 38 years of professional experience, Mr. Breslin is recognized as an expert in teambuilding. He lends his talents to NHS, a community-based non-profit organization that serves children and adults with special needs. Known for his ability to draw top talent, develop their skills, and actualize their strengths, he is tasked with developing team structure and organizational standards around company service lines and programs. His responsibilities include providing quality controls within the operational structure of the company, ensuring that all standards are implemented and met, and supervising operational managers and service line directors.
Before the COO position was created for him last January, Mr. Breslin was one of the organization's two executive vice presidents. Formerly, he served as the executive director of the Children's Cabinet of Pennsylvania and as the chairman of the sub-cabinet of the Children's Coalition. Mr. Breslin was honored by the state government for his contributions to the field of children's services, and considers this to be his proudest accomplishment to date. He attributes his success to creating an environment in which people are encouraged to bring their talents to the table for the overall improvement of the company.
Mr. Breslin earned his Master of Science in Administration, with a concentration in Leadership and Juvenile Justice, in 1984 from Shippensburg University. Additionally, he received a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology in 1971 from the University of Scranton. He previously served as chairman of the board of Pennsylvania Partnerships for Children, as finance committee council member of the Cathedral Parish of Saint Patrick, and as chairman of the board of the United Way. Mr. Breslin looks forward to helping NHS Human Services gain recognition as a premiere quality provider across all service lines and operations, and to developing new and innovative technologies to help people with multiple needs.
NHS Human Services offers a full range of integrated services in the areas of behavioral health, intellectual and developmental disabilities, addictive diseases, therapeutic foster care, juvenile justice, special education, and elder care. It serves over 50,000 individuals throughout Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Virginia, North Carolina, Maryland, and Louisiana. For more information, visit
