Michael Lytle Demonstrates Multifaceted Involvement and Contributions to Forensic Science

Mr. Lytle has experienced all-encompassing success in forensic science through his tenure as a professor and military officer

BROWNSVILLE, TX, December 21, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Michael A. Lytle, Associate Professor for The University of Texas at Brownsville and Texas Southmost College, has been named Cambridge Who's Who Professional of the Year in Forensic Science. While inclusion in the Cambridge Who's Who Registry is an honor, only a small selection of members in each discipline are chosen for this distinction. These special honorees are distinguished based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements, leadership abilities, years of service, and the credentials they have provided in association with their Cambridge Who's Who membership.

With more than 30 years of experience in forensic science, Mr. Lytle is considered an expert in counter-narcoterrorism. In his current position as an associate professor, he bears the responsibility of teaching criminal justice and forensic investigation - from both an educational standpoint and based on his experiences working in law enforcement, and then in all-source/counterintelligence as a military officer. Mr. Lytle is committed to working for the only university in southern Texas with a forensics program. Outside of the classroom, he consults with government organizations and advises on law enforcement command, control, communications and intelligence programs.

Mr. Lytle has been recognized as a renowned forensic educator through his establishment of the forensic science program at Marymount University. His alma mater, Sam Houston State University, named an academic prize in forensics after him — an accomplishment he attributes to his curious disposition and the support he received from his mentors. In addition, he has been decorated for his military accomplishments with a Legion of Merit Medal, Bronze Star Medal, Purple Heart Medal, Meritorious Service Medal with second oak leaf cluster, Joint Service Commendation Medal, and Army Commendation Medal with fourth oak leaf cluster. Mr. Lytle also cites his military experience as a contributing factor in shaping his career's successes. He considers the highlight of his career to be his involvement working with homeland security on command and control issues in the Washington, D.C. area.

Mr. Lytle has completed all but dissertation toward a doctoral degree in higher education administration and public management after already earning a Master of Education in curriculum with a concentration in college teaching, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in forensic studies. Moreover, he attained certifications in law enforcement, forensic nursing, medical investigation, forensic examination, and training. In an effort to stay up-to-date with industry trends, he is a member of The Forensic Science Society, the American College of Forensic Examiners, Sigma Xi, The Scientific Research Society, the International Association of Forensic Nurses, the International Association for Identification, the International Association of Chiefs of Police and the International Association of Law Enforcement Intelligence Analysts.
