/24-7PressRelease/ - AMMAN, JORDAN, November 08, 2005 - Midas, Jordan's leading furniture store for retail sales, organized an Iftar during the Holy Month of Ramadan for the orphans at the Al-Noor Centre in cooperation with the Marj Al Hamam women society centre.
Sixty children belonging to the Al-Noor Centre orphanage participated in the Iftar within a warm family atmosphere with entertainment activities ensuring their happiness and joy during this festive period.
Family International performed musical entertainment including a puppet show and facial painting with several children taking part and enjoying these activities. Clowns were also present during the Iftar which took place at the Marj al Hamam women society centre.
Mr Raja Khoury, Chief Executive Officer of Midas Furniture Company, stated, "The Iftar reflects Midas's commitment to honoring our social responsibility and humanitarian role within the local community especially during the Holy Month of Ramadan when solidarity and social bonding towards all the members of the
community is enhanced, on this occasion particularly towards those children who have been deprived of their parents."
Mr Khoury added, "With this iftar, we continue to extend help and assistance towards all Jordanians and in particular the orphans. Midas supports the national efforts to enhance social development and promotes social responsibility by the private sector in Jordan in cooperation with the Government in the building of a healthy and productive community."
Mrs. Maha Hobrak, President of Marj al Hamam women society centre, expressed her appreciation of Midas's kind gesture towards the orphans. Mrs. Hobrak stated, "Midas has grown us accustomed to their kind contributions towards the people of Jordan. They have taken the lead in providing support to the orphans and we are confident that the cooperation between Midas and Marj al Hamam women society centre will continue in the future with the aim of promoting health and prosperity for all the people in Jordan."
