Mike Ditka's Gridiron Greats Assistance Fund Welcomes NFL Legend to the Team

Former Chicago Bears and Super Bowl Champion Dennis McKinnon joins the fight in assisting retired NFL players in dire need.

NORTHBROOK, IL, September 21, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Gridiron Greats Assistance Fund (GGAF) is honored and privileged to welcome Dennis McKinnon to the Gridiron Greats family. Gridiron Greats is a non-profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization whose purpose is to provide financial aid and medical assistance to former NFL players and their families in dire need. Dennis will assist in corporate fundraising efforts and serve as player liaison to retired NFL players.

GGAF delivers on its commitment to providing retired players with the basic human services they need by offering a broad range of aid including medical, pharmaceutical, housing, food and clothing. To support its programs, the organization relies solely on corporate and private donations generated through sponsorship, special events, sports memorabilia auctions, autograph sessions and public drives.

"We are thrilled to have Dennis join our team. His passion, dedication, drive and charisma that he displayed on the football field are characteristics he continues to portray off the field", said Shannon Jordan, Gridiron Greats President. "Dennis has worked with some of the largest corporations since life after football and we are excited to work with brands that want to align with our organization and give back to the men who paved the way in making the NFL what it is today."

"There's been a lot of talk in recent years about the medical issues many retired players face due to the game and the lack of post career healthcare or affordable insurance," said Gridiron Greats Chairman Mike Ditka. "This has resulted in many players being forced into dire situations not only medically but financially. There's been too much talk and not enough action. Dennis is a great guy and he understands the importance of what we are doing. We're very honored to have Dennis join the fight in helping these retired players."

"I'm excited about joining the GGAF team," said Dennis McKinnon. "Understanding how critical and sad situations are for so many retired players around the country, I'm blessed with an opportunity to make a difference in their lives. I accept the challenges that lay ahead with the same vigor and commitment I had when I played this game."

Corporations who would like to join our corporate sponsorship program please reach out to GGAF offices at (847) 509-3086 or by visiting www.gridirongreats.org to learn more.
