MIDVALE, UT, February 15, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- St. James Episcopal Parish is planning to put into action the belief that a healthy body is related to a healthy spirit by hosting a wellness fair, inspired by the recent work of the bishop of Utah's Episcopal Diocese.

Everyone is invited to enjoy the fair on Saturday, Feb. 18 from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. at St. James Church. There will be free blood pressure and body mass index testing, massage, yoga, and fitness tips, herbal medicine information, and healthy nutrition and meal planning. Free prizes and children's activities will also be available.

Participating organizations include Maliheh Free Clinic, Baby Your Baby, Friends for Sight, St. James Food Bank, Dimple Dell Recreation Center, and many others.

The event was inspired by Episcopal Bishop Scott Hayashi's message that everyone should be "physically healthy so they can stay emotionally and spiritually strong." He says that emphasizing faith is a natural fit for a diocese that established Utah's first hospital (St. Mark's) and for a faith that considers the human body a "temple of the Holy Spirit."

St. James Episcopal Church is a parish of the Episcopal Church, part of the worldwide Anglican Communion. It's located at 7486 Union Park Avenue in Midvale, just south of the I-215 Union Park Exit, about 15 minutes from downtown Salt Lake City.
