/24-7PressRelease/ -- Rancho Santa Fe's renowned Mille Fleurs restaurant will celebrate the age-old German tradition of Oktoberfest with a limited time menu and a beer pairing dinner crafted by Chef De Cuisine Martin Woesle, who was born and raised in Southern Germany. Featuring traditional dishes such as Oven-Roasted Suckling Pig to a modern take on a Mille Fleurs favorite, Weiner Schnitzel, the menus pay tribute to the best of German cuisine and can be paired with German wine and brews.
Available from October 6 through 18, the $40 Oktoberfest pre-fixe menu begins with "Vorspeisen" or starters including Fried Cambozola Cheese with Pear-Walnut Sauce; Imported Black Forest Prosciutto on Garden Greens with Radishes and Nettle Leaf Vinaigrette; Suckling Pig in Aspic with Shallot Vinaigrette and Mustard; and Pickled Herring on Sliced Beet and Potato Salad. Dishes are also available a la carte.
"Hauptgerichte" or main course options include Paprika Beef Goulash with Homemade Spatzle Noodles; Oven-Roasted Suckling Pig on Sauerkraut with Grapes and Mashed Potatoes; Veal Loin "Weiner Schnitzel" with Capers and Lemon Butter; and Bread Dumpling with Apple Smoked Bacon and Chanterelle Mushrooms in Parsley Cream Sauce. A warm dessert or "Nachtish" of Apple Strudel with Cinnamon, Raisins, Almonds and Caramel Sauce will complete the meal. Guests will also have the option to order from the daily Mille Fleurs menu.
Beer aficionados will savor the rare pours of some of Germany's most famous handcrafted beers such as Josefi Bock, Hopf Dunkle Weisse, Hopf Special Weisse, Schonramer Pils and Schonramer Festweisse. These extremely rare beers will be available in flights of two priced at $8.00 each for 6oz pours or $8.00 for one 12oz pour. A selection of German wines will also be offered by the bottle or glass.
The three-week celebration ends with an Oktoberfest Beer Dinner on October 28 at 6pm. More details will be announced soon.
