Lingualcare, a 3M Unitek company, recently invited Eisenhuth and several other orthodontists from throughout the nation to train directly with Dr. Dirk Wiechmann, the German orthodontist who invented iBraces.
iBraces are lingual braces- those affixed behind the teeth instead of to the visible surfaces- that are uniquely designed for each individual patient "to hug the lingual surfaces of your teeth for optimal comfort, fit and performance," according to the Lingualcare Web site (

"This is a great product and I'm proud to be among the first orthodontists to offer it to my patients," Eisenhuth said.
Lingual braces are particularly popular with people who are interested in the aesthetic aspects of orthodontics, she said. iBraces are an effective way to undergo orthodontic treatment without it appearing noticeable to everyone.
