Minnesota Revolution Girls Players Go Division 1

Minnesota's Newest Tier 1 hockey team helps launch top girls players on to future hockey and academic success



    ST. PAUL, MN, November 23, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Three exceptional student-athletes from the Minnesota Revolution, attending Bauer-Emerson Prep Academy in North St. Paul, are moving forward with their hockey and academic futures -- signing letters of intent with key Division 1 schools.

Emily Antony, forward from Plymouth, Minnesota will attend Minnesota State University-Mankato, and play in the WCHA Conference.

Shelby Brossart, defense from Grand Forks, North Dakota, will attend University of Minnesota-Duluth, and play in the WCHA Conference.

Katie Lynch, forward from Victoria, Minnesota will attend Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island, and play in the ECAC Conference.

Antony, Brossart and Lynch represent the inaugural signings for the Revolution Tier 1 Hockey program and Bauer-Emerson Academy. These three players are among an elite number of 11 girls statewide in Minnesota currently to sign D1 for next year - - a major accomplishment for the young program, and the first year for the Academy.

Classmates, coaches and parents celebrated this historic occasion with a special signing ceremony on November 19 in the school commons.

Two of their younger teammates have also made verbal commitments to select colleges upon graduation, as they also actively strategize their futures in hockey. Haley Mack, Junior forward from East Grand Forks, Minnesota is committed to Bemidji State University, and Abbey Stanley, Junior defense from St. Louis, Missouri will attend the University of North Dakota.

The Minnesota Revolution 19U team is currently ranked #11 in the USA Hockey Tier 1, and the 16U team is currently ranked #17 in their respective age level.

The Academy holds a coveted Tier 1, full in-season hockey charter with elite sanctioning by Minnesota Hockey -- the statewide governing body of amateur hockey in Minnesota, and an affiliate of USA Hockey, fielding players at the 18U, 16U and 14U levels for boys, and at the U19, U16 and U14 levels for girls. Younger students compete at the Squirt A and PeeWee A level with MN Hockey.
