For the last 15 years, Dr. Seo has been a recognized leader in the field of industrial engineering. Now working as a principal engineer for Samsung Electronics, he is dutifully tasked with managing the responsibilities of its Hwaseong-si engineering department in the Republic of Korea.
Previously, Dr. Seo worked as an engineer for Hyundai and a member of the board of directors of the Korea Productivity Association. Due to these roles, Dr. Seo feels he was able to build his extensive skill set and achieve the successes that he has met with in his career. A former sergeant in Seoul's military, Dr. Seo was recognized for professional excellence this year by Who's Who in the World; he was selected for inclusion in the 33rd edition of its yearly publication. He was also the recipient of a Management Innovation Award from Samsung Electronics and an excellence award.
Dr. Seo holds a Bachelor of Science from Korea University in Seoul, which he earned in 2001. Three years later, he achieved a Master of Science from the Pennsylvania State University. With an evident passion for engineering and a desire to make a significant impact on the field from a broader perspective, Dr. Seo pursued a double doctorate program at his alma mater, the Pennsylvania State University. In 2009, he achieved a Ph.D. in industrial engineering and a second Ph.D. in operations research. Today, Dr. Seo stays at the top of his field through his alignment with the Insurance Industrial Engineers Society and Tau Beta Pi.
