Miriam C. Delgado, JD, Inducted into Worldwide Who's Who for Excellence in Medical Interpretation

    New Castle, Washington, January 9, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Miriam C. Delgado, a medical interpreter for AliaLingua, has been recognized by Worldwide Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in medical interpretation.

Ms. Delgado obtained her Juris Doctor from Indiana Universtiy School of Law-Indianapolis. While working as a lawyer, Ms. Delgado served her community as a Spanish tutor and translator. She was also Assistant Professor of Spanish at Indiana University-Purdue University-Indianapolis during this time. Currently pursuing a diploma at Bellevue College's Interpretation and Translation Institute, Ms. Delgado also holds a certification as a medical interpreter, translator, and social services interpreter through the State of Washington, is a CERTIFIED HEALTHCARE INTERPRETER through the Commission for Certification of Healthcare Interpreters and, is a graduate of the Bridging the Gap Medical Interpreter Training Program.

For the past six years, Ms. Delgado has served as a medical interpreter for AliaLingua, her own interpreting company. Experienced in the fields of health care, social services, business, and legal interpreting, she remains on-call for emergency medical interpretations, works via the telephone and Internet, and inteprets calls on demand according to client needs. Recognized as a leader in her field and an expert in medical interpretation, Ms. Delgado attributes her success to hard work, continued education, and a penchant for research. Ms. Delgado is a member of the Northwest Translators and Interpreters Society, the Washington State Court Interpreters and Translators Society, National Council on Interpreting in Health Care, International Medical Interpreters Association, American Bar Association, Washington State Bar Association and King County Bar Association.
