/24-7PressRelease/ -- Sports Fan Properties LLC & the MLB Players Alumni Association-Atlanta Chapter celebrated the 24th annual MLB Players Alumni Charity Dinner and Golf Classic at the beautiful Barnsley Gardens Resort in Adairsville, GA. This event promotes the efforts of the MLB Alumni Association in the Atlanta community and continues the tradition of supporting and donating a portion of the proceeds to the Georgia Chapter of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
Sports Fan Properties LLC Managing Partner Greg Barckhoff says: "This year's event was a tremendous success. Participants had the unique opportunity to meet and greet with MLB legends and helped contribute to a well deserving local charity. Although the weather posed some issues for the Golf Classic on Monday, we were able to get everything in and it proved to be quite competitive tournament."
The charity dinner and live auction was a great success with over 100 people in attendance. The dinner and auction were held in the Barnsley Garden Beer Garden and Town Hall where the MLB Legends were introduced and available for autographs and pictures throughout the evening. In addition, hundreds of unique auction items were displayed and sold as part of the charity auctions. In attendance were Otis Nixon, Chris Chambliss, Darrel Chaney, Mike Devereaux, Zane Smith & 15 more former MLB players.
The Golf Classic was played on "The General" course at Barnsley Gardens Resort. This Par 72, 7,350 yard course is well known for its lush emerald fairways and bent-grass greens and is recognized to have some of the fastest greens in the Southeast.
This tournament was sponsored by Chevrolet, Brand Affinity Technologies, MLB Alumni Association, and Sports Fan Properties making the prize packages very appealing to the players. Some of the top prizes included 2009 "Swing for the Legends" trophies, MLB monogrammed golf shirts and duffle bags, Dicks Sporting Goods and Golf Smith gift certificates, Bridgestone items and much more.
