MEMPHIS, TN, September 01, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The physicians and staff of Memphis Obstetrics and Gynecological Association, PC (MOGA) are pleased to announce the addition of Dr. Helena Geissler to their medical staff.

According to Dr. George wortham, one of MOGA's physician President: "It is always exciting to be able to bring a native Memphian to our staff. Dr. Geissler grew up here, attended school here, and is now ready to practice medicine in her hometown."

Dr. Geissler attended high school at St. Agnes Academy, and performed her undergraduate work at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, majoring in microbiology. She obtained her medical degree from the University of Tennessee in Memphis. She then travelled to Florida for her internship, which was conducted at the University of South Florida, and returned to Memphis for her residency through UT.

"I have always had an interest in math and science," says Dr. Geissler. "So I knew that I wanted to pursue a health-related career. When I was in college, I got a summer job at a physician's office, and this helped to seal my interest."

Outside of the office, Dr. Geissler enjoys reading, spending time with family and friends, and lounging by the pool. She also enjoys travelling, and her favorite destination is Charleston, SC. Her parents still live in the Memphis area, and she has a brother in Louisville and a sister in Knoxville.

She will be seeing patients at MOGA's Wolfchase, Germantown, and Baptist Women's (East) offices, and can be reached by calling (901) 843-1500.
