Monique Brizz-Walker Recognized for Dedication to Nonprofit Event Planning

    BROOKLYN, NY, May 6, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Monique Brizz-Walker, Manager of Special Events for the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, Inc., has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in nonprofit event planning.

Ms. Brizz-Walker has more than 20 years of professional experience working in the nonprofit and fundraising sector. With an expertise in event coordination, strategic management and relationship building, she has been the manager of special events for the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, Inc. since 2003. In her position, Ms. Brizz-Walker collaborates with the Board of Directors and the development team to coordinate fundraising occasions, including large galas, small dinners and cultivation events. She also engages in public speaking.

A graduate of Marymount Manhattan College, Ms. Brizz-Walker received a Bachelor of Arts in communication for organizations in 1986. She is a board member for the Crown Heights Service Center and a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, as well as a supporter of Lions Clubs International. She attributes her success to her determination, patience and ability to connect with others. Looking ahead, Ms. Brizz-Walker hopes to start a women's foundation and work with other nonprofit organizations.
