Royal Purple Presents Donation Check of $40,000
PORTER, TX, November 20, 2009
/24-7PressRelease/ -- Royal Purple is pleased to announce that participation and involvement in this year's Powder Puff Race for the cure, was at an all time high with more than 182 teams participating and over 10,000 spectators. Thanks to everyone who participated whether in it be in the raffle, entry fees or donations to date more than $115,000.00 has been raised and donated to the Cedar Sinai Women's Breast Cancer Research Center.
This year's overall winner was Lori Robinson in the #26 truck completing 6 laps in 3 hours 26 minutes and 44 seconds at an astonishing average speed of 48.8 miles per hour. Lori was followed closely behind by the 2nd place overall winners Royal Purple/Damzl #132 vehicle driven by Jennifer Clemison and co-piloted by Heather Birdwell finishing 1 minute and 1 second behind. Shirley Jergensen (winner of the previous 3 years of the Powder Puff race) managed to take third even with a final lap roll-over slowing her down. It was a very close, great race!
"I was proud to be part of this years event as it seemed the entire desert was filled with committed families of teams," stated Heather Birdwell of the Royal Purple/Damzl #132 vehicle. "Everyone was there to help fight Cancer. I was also impressed with the level of competition out on the course. It was very exciting!"

"The off road racing community really came together to support this wonderful cause and it was quite an exciting race filled with some of the most talented women drivers in the country. We look forward to being involved in this race for many years to come."
This year's race took place on October 10th in Barstow, California. The Powder Puff Race for the Cure is the largest all women driver event with teams from more than 8 different states, as well as one of the overall largest events put on by M.O.R.E and DAMZL Inc each year bringing teams in from all over the country. All vehicles in the race run a 28-mile loop and compete with vehicles split up into two different heats.
