    NEW ORLEANS, LA, October 08, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- More than 14,000 visitors and exhibitors from 45 states and 27 countries are expected to attend the 34rd International WorkBoat Show, North America's largest commercial marine trade show and conference, which will be held from October 9-11 in the New Orleans Morial Convention Center

The 2013 Show features over 1,100 exhibitors, the Eighth Annual Shipyard Day that includes a keynote address by Shane Guidry, Chairman and CEO, Harvey Gulf International Marine, the 10 Significant Boats of 2013 Awards Ceremony and the WorkBoat Environmental Awards. Tradeshow Week ranks the WorkBoat Show as one of the Top 200 largest U.S. trade shows.

This event is anticipated to generate almost $13 million in economic impact, according to the New Orleans Convention and Visitors Bureau. The Show is in line to meet last year's record setting number of attendees and exhibitors.

The 8th Annual Shipyard Day is where the International WorkBoat Show and WorkBoat magazine celebrate the boatbuilding industry with a series of special events recognizing shipyards and the new vessels built for workboat owners and operators. Highlights:

Shipyard Day Keynote Address, 11:30 a.m.
Shane Guidry, Chairman and CEO, Harvey Gulf International Marine, which is the exclusive provider of towing vessels for some of the largest operators in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico, including Chevron, Shell and Devon Energy. He will speak on the current challenges and opportunities facing the workboat industry and discuss the outlook for 2014 and beyond. Harvey Gulf has its headquarters in New Orleans.

WorkBoat Environmental Awards, 2:30 p.m.
The WorkBoat Environmental Awards recognize businesses and government agencies operating in the U.S. maritime industry, which exemplify innovative and effective environmental process initiatives in daily operations.

WorkBoat magazine's 10 Significant Boats of 2013, 3 p.m.
WorkBoat magazine's editorial staff reviews scores of boats that appeared in the magazine during the previous 12 months. Of these, the editors choose 10 that deserve special recognition - with some chosen for design or technological advances, while others are selected for speed, style, and uniqueness.

WorkBoat Professional Series, October 9-11
