Morris Manning, QC, Honored for Excellence in Litigation by Worldwide Registry

Morris Manning celebrated for more than 50 years of contributions to Canada's legal industry



    TORONTO, ON, April 07, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Morris Manning, QC, has been recognized for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in litigation.

For more than 50 years, Mr. Manning has been breaking new ground in the areas of criminal litigation, in both his trial and appellate practice. Specialized in such areas as, constitutional and international criminal law and white collar crime, Mr. Manning shines as a luminary in his field. He has a wealth of knowledge and experience, and a reputation of distinction and prominence in Canada.

Mr. Manning always wanted to be an attorney, and after making the decision to pursue a career in the legal field, was able to rise quickly through the ranks. In 1978, he was appointed Queen's Counsel, and has appeared before the Supreme Court of Canada on applications for leave to appeal and on appeals on more than 100 occasions.

Mr. Manning earned a JD from the University of Toronto and was recently inducted into Worldwide Registry. In addition to his busy litigation practice, he has authored Canada's first texts on wiretap law and the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, and has coauthored Canada's first criminal law text now in its 5th edition. He has also written an array of articles in eminent and well-known, peer review publications. All of his writings have been cited by the Supreme Court of Canada and by courts at every level throughout Canada and have helped to shape criminal law in Canada. He has also edited a number of Canadian Law reports and a law journal. Mr. Manning was recognized as an AV Preeminent Icon Attorney.
