This year, the LAEDC created two categories for this award to recognize cities with populations of 50,000 and above and those with 50,000 and under.

Background:
The Eddy Awards is a gala to support LAEDC's mission to attract, retain, and grow businesses and jobs for the regions of LA County. The Awards were introduced by the LAEDC in 1996 to celebrate people, organizations, and now cities that demonstrate exceptional contributions to positive economic development in the region. On Nov. 17th, LAEDC will announce the winners of the most "Business Friendly City" competition out of the top 10. This year, the LAEDC created two categories for this award to recognize cities with populations of 50,000 and above and those with 50,000 and under. The cities of Cerritos, Glendale, Long Beach, Pasadena and Santa Clarita are finalists for the population 50,000 and over category. Culver City, La Mirada, Monrovia, Santa Fe Springs and Vernon are finalists in the population 50,000 and under category.
