Arthritis Walk Gwinnett is the only walk for arthritis north of Atlanta. Arthritis affects more than 1.7 million Georgians, 9,200 of whom are children. These Georgians join the 46 million Americans living with arthritis.

Boyd's personal platform issue is arthritis awareness and is a state and national spokesperson for the Arthritis Foundation. She was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis at the age of 15. Her mission is to help raise funds and awareness for children, teens and young adults with childhood rheumatic diseases.

"For 18 years I have battled this disease and as a survivor of arthritis, I am honored to wear my blue hat this Saturday," Boyd said.
